Graffiti. Is it art or is it vandalism? Come challenge the status quo with us.
Urban street art has always pushed the limits of social acceptance, from Cornbread’s attempts to catch a girl’s appearance to Banksy’s mural’s fetching 450,000 Euro at auction. In this program, students will explore the history of graffiti, from illegal art forms to sought after by collectors and its role in challenging the status quo and social conflicts.
Different forms and styles from multiple artists will be showcased, and students will have the opportunity to tag their own piece of street art. This program will begin in the classroom and move outdoors, weather permitting.Middle & High School
