The Purpose of Repurposing

Now Open in the Bullpen Gallery

“The Purpose of Repurposing” an art exhibit by Joseph Medina da Silva will be open from May 12 through September 16, 2023

A mixed medium art exhibition will be on display at the Gaston County Museum of Art & History beginning Friday, May 12, 2023. “The Purpose of Repurposing” uses found materials and mixed medium in an array of sculptural and handing pieces. Joseph Medina da Silva’s message is “to increase awareness, inform, and create debate about the fragility of our planet and to arouse the desire in people to take a personal responsibility for our human role in the causes of climate change.”

“The Gaston County Museum is proud to support a regional artist who’s an active participant in the Gaston Art Guild,” Gaston County Museum’s Curator, Alicyn Wiedrich, said. “Come out to support this artist and spend time with the work while considering your role in recycling during the summer months and all year round.”

“The Purpose of Repurposing” will be open from May 12 through September 16, 2023. A public opening will be held on Friday, May 12th from 6-8pm at the Gaston County Museum.
